Rev Dr Alison Swindells is our minister

I was inducted as minister to the Parish of Barthol Chapel linked with Tarves on a beautiful sunny evening in May 2017. This is my third parish. The first was in Aberdeen and the second in Edinburgh.

I have also at different times worked briefly as a youth and families minister, a hospital chaplain and as a locum minister in Aberdeenshire. I met my husband Sean while studying divinity at Christ’s College in Aberdeen. He is now minister of Fintray, Kinellar and Keithhall, and we have two golden retrievers, Wesley and Calvin, the latter of whom can still be a bit of a handful despite his increasing years!

I am enjoying getting to know people and appreciate the strong links which already exist between church and community. Looking to the future I hope that working together we can develop these relationships further for the benefit of the village.

As parish minister my role in the community is to offer spiritual support and encouragement, for everyone, whether they are a church member or not.  I lead worship on a Sunday, conduct weddings and funerals, and offer pastoral care. If you would like to know more about the church of if you require the services of a minister for any reason at all please do not hesitate to get in touch by phone (01651 851295) or e-mail.
